Rogers Online Protection is being discontinued

At Rogers, we constantly evaluate our products and services to ensure the best possible experience for our customers. This sometimes results in discontinuing older products and services.

Rogers Online Protection Basic and Rogers Online Protection Premium will be retired and discontinued on December 8, 2020.

But don’t worry! If you have a newer Microsoft Windows 10-based computer, your operating system will have Microsoft Defender Antivirus built in. Follow these steps to enable it:

  1. On your Microsoft Windows 10-based computer, select the Start button, then select Settings Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & Threat Protection.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • In the current version of Windows 10: Under Virus & Threat Protection settings, select Manage Settings, and then ensure that the Real-Time Protection setting is On.
    • In previous versions of Windows 10: Select Virus & Threat Protection Settings and ensure that the Real-Time Protection setting is On.

How to uninstall Rogers Online Protection

Once you’ve enabled Microsoft Defender Antivirus or Security Essentials, you will have to uninstall Rogers Online Protection. Here’s how:

On Windows 10 computers

  1. Go to Start, then click Settings.
  2. Click Apps, then find Rogers Online Protection from the list.
  3. Click on Rogers Online Protection and select Uninstall.
  4. When the User Account Control dialog box appears, click Yes.
  5. Click Remove in the Rogers Online Protection screen.
  6. Follow the onscreen instructions and restart the computer when prompted.
  7. After the reboot, follow the above steps again to uninstall the Rogers Agent helper application.
  8. Restart the computer again to complete the uninstall process.

On Windows 7 computers

  1. Go to Start, then click Control Panel.
  2. Click Programs, then Programs and Features.
  3. Select Rogers Online Protection from the list and click
  4. When the User Account Control dialog box appears, click
  5. Follow the onscreen instructions and restart the computer when prompted.
  6. After the reboot, follow the above steps and uninstall the Rogers Agent helper application.
  7. Restart the computer again to complete the uninstall process.
