Mark an email as spam
If you are getting junk emails that clutter your inbox, you can mark them as spam so that future emails from that sender automatically go to your spam folder.
- Place a checkmark beside the email(s) you want to mark as spam.
- Click Spam .
- The email(s) will then be moved to your Spam folder.
- Any future email you receive from that email address will automatically go to your spam folder.
Mark an email as Not Spam
Yahoo! may try to filter out a lot of junk emails for you. Sometimes it may flag emails as spam that are not spam. You can mark these emails as Not Spam so that future messages from that sender go directly to your inbox.
- Go to your Spam folder.
- Place a checkmark beside the email(s) you want to mark as not spam.
- Click Not Spam .
- The email(s) will then be moved to your Inbox folder.
- Any future email you receive from that email address will automatically go to your inbox rather than the spam folder.
Some other tips to avoid spam
- Be careful who you give your email address to
- Do not reply to unknown senders
- Try to avoid opening spam emails or clicking links within spam emails
- Avoid “unsubscribe” options in spam emails
- Avoid replying to or forwarding chain letter emails
