Change batteries on the Universal Electronics Keypad

Use these steps to replace batteries in the Universal Electronics (UEI) Keypad for Smart Home Monitoring. You’ll know it’s time to change the batteries when the battery level indicator appears on the keypad, as this means the batteries have less than 60 days of use remaining.

Batteries Needed: 4 x non-rechargable AA Lithium batteries.

1. Slide the keypad upwards to release it from the wall mount.
2. Pull the keypad away from the wall to remove it from the battery door.
3. Remove the old batteries.
4. Install 4 new, non-rechargeable AA Lithium batteries.
5. Align the keypad to the battery door, then slide it down and lock it into the door.
