How to replace the batteries in your Ignite Smart Motion Sensor

To keep your Ignite Smart Motion Sensor working properly, replace the battery within two weeks of the first low battery warning in the Ignite HomeConnect app. Make sure to use the right type of batteries for safe operation (two 3V lithium batteries, type CR-123A) and dispose of used batteries according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Follow these steps to open the sensor and replace the batteries.

  1. Holding the Ignite Smart Motion Sensor upright, push up on the body to slide it off the battery cover.
  2. Remove any existing batteries. The manufacturer recommends waiting about 1 minute after battery removal before you insert new batteries.
  3. Insert new batteries.
  4. Mount the sensor back on the battery cover by sliding it downward until it clicks.

The LED on your Ignite Smart Motion Sensor will flash steadily for 2 minutes. After that, it will enter walk test mode for 15 minutes and the LED will light up for every motion detected. After 15 minutes, the sensor will return to normal.
