Easy setup guide - Install your Ignite Door/Window Sensor – Sercomm

Follow these steps to install your Ignite Door/Window Sensor – Sercomm using the Ignite HomeConnectTM app.  

Your sensor uses a magnet that attaches to a door or window to sense whether it’s open or closed.

How to activate and pair your Ignite Door/Window Sensor

Before you install, you need to activate and pair your Ignite Door/Window Sensor. Make sure you’ve installed the Ignite HomeConnect app to get started. 

  1. From the Ignite HomeConnect app main screen, select Home. 
  2. Select Add smart devices. 
  3. Select Set up sensors. 
  4. Select Get started. 
  5. Bring all of your sensors close to your Ignite WiFi Gateway for the best pairing experience, then select Begin pairing sensors. 
  6. Remove the activation strip from your sensors to allow pairing, then select Next to proceed. 
  7. Once your Ignite Door/Window Sensor appears on screen, select Continue. 
    Note: your sensor must be on and in pairing mode to appear on this screen. 
  8. Select Begin door/window installation. 
  9. Select Begin installation. 

You’re now ready to begin installing your sensor. 

How to install your Ignite Door/Window Sensor

For best performance, we recommend installing the body of the sensor on the frame around the door or window and the magnet on the part that will move. For door use, place the sensor near the top of the door, close to the opening edge. 

Once you’ve picked the right spot to install your door/window sensor, follow these steps to mount it. 

  1. Review the sensor placement recommendations and select Next in the Ignite HomeConnect app. 
  2. Mount the sensor on the door/window frame using the double-sided tape provided. Place the tape on the sensor first and press it firmly into place, holding it in place for a few seconds to ensure a strong bond. In the Ignite HomeConnect app, select Next to proceed. 
  3. Align the magnet to the sensor so they’re less than 0.25 inches apart when the door or window is closed. Use the double-sided tape to firmly press and hold the magnet in place for a few seconds. When ready, select Continue to proceed. 
  4. Close the door or window and select Begin sensor test. 
  5. If your app gives you a success message, select Continue. 
  6. Give your sensor a name (e.g., Front Door), then select Done to save it. 
  7. Select Finish. 

Your Ignite Door/Window Sensor is now working!
