Before you begin

  1. Make sure your Rogers Xfinity Internet is set up and your Gateway is online with a solid white light before activating your Storm-Ready WiFi device.

  2. You’ll need the Rogers Xfinity app, Bluetooth-enabled on your phone, and your MyRogers username and password to sign in.

    • If needed, you can register or recover your MyRogers username and password from the sign in screen.

Where to place your device

Place your Rogers Xfinity Storm-Ready WiFi device in an indoor location close to an electrical outlet near a window. This will help optimize backup connectivity to the Rogers cellular network.

  • DO place your Storm-Ready WiFi device at least 5 feet from your Gateway but not more than 30 feet away. To improve WiFi coverage, place halfway between your Gateway and the area without coverage.

  • DON’T plug your device into a power bar, extension cord, or an electrical outlet controlled by a dimmer or wall switch which can accidentally be turned off .

  • DON’T place your device inside or behind cabinets or furniture and avoid sources of signal interference including other pods, speakers, mirrored surfaces, as well as appliances and other metal items.

  • DON’T place your device close to heat sources such as a radiator, fireplace, heater or stove. Also avoid areas with moisture such as near a bathtub, sink or washing machine.

If preferred, you can connect your Storm-Ready WiFi device directly to your Gateway using an Ethernet cable instead of using a WiFi connection.
