The following steps outline how to fix the error “The settings saved on this computer do not match the requirements of the network." on Windows Vista or Windows 7.
This is usually caused by network settings being changed after there has been a connection to a wireless network. It can also happen if the you manually create a network using the wizard and enter the wrong settings.
- Click Start Menu.
- Click Control Panel.
- Underneath Network and Internet, click View network status and tasks.
- Click Manage wireless networks, located on the left hand side of the window.
- The next window that appears will show a list of all of the wireless networks that the computer has connected to. Right click on the SSID and select Remove.
- Click Yes to confirm the removal of the network.
- Once the network has been removed from the list, reconnect to the wireless network.
- To confirm the connection, test two separate websites.
