Turn notifications on or off for Rogers Xfinity app

With Rogers Xfinity app, you can stay in the know from wherever you are with notifications about key changes to your home WiFi network. Whether you prefer push notifications that display right on your mobile phone, or notifications sent via text message or email (coming soon), this convenient feature helps keep you informed and in control.

Note: Notifications are supported for select activities and will initially be only available in English for text and email.

Rogers Xfinity app is available exclusively for Rogers Internet customers with the WiFi Gateway modem. Not sure if this is your modem? Check under “Internet” on your MyRogers account.

Before you begin, confirm where you would like notifications to be sent.

  • Push notifications will be sent to devices you’ve installed the Rogers Xfinity app on and have logged into previously using your MyRogers username and password. These cannot be managed from the website.
  • Text and/or email notifications (coming soon) are sent to the contact information you have provided in your MyRogers profile. Visit this article to learn how to update your MyRogers profile and settings if you need to verify, add, or update this contact information. Keep in mind that:
    • Text notifications will be sent to your contact wireless number. Your wireless recovery number can be a different number.
    • Your contact email address can be different than the email address you use to login to MyRogers.
    • Both your contact email address and contact wireless number are also where we send your bill (optional for text notifications), and updates about known service interruptions in your area. Take this into consideration when choosing the number and address you want to use for this functionality.
  1. Open the Rogers Xfinity app  and sign in with your MyRogers username and password.
  2. From the Overview screen, select the Account icon or the Notification Centre icon in the top corner of the screen.
  3. To view notification preferences, select Preferences in the Notifications section, or select the Settings icon settings icon at the top right of the screen.
  4. Select the type of notifications you want to turn on: Email Notifications (coming soon), Text Notifications (coming soon) or Push Notifications.
    • Note: If you select Push Notifications, Rogers Xfinity app will let you know if you haven't granted permission for this app to show notifications. If necessary, you’ll be redirected to your device settings to grant permission to do this before you can proceed to the next step.
  5. Select or unselect the checkbox(es) for the types of notifications you want to receive or stop receiving:
    • Network Access notifications will tell you when your:
      • Modem is factory reset
      • Network Name (SSID) broadcast is turned on/off
      • WiFi Security settings change
      • IP address changes
      • WiFi Network Name (SSID) or password is changed
    • Network Activity notifications will tell you when:
      • A device first joins the network
      • A user profile with an Active Time Limit is approaching its time limit (Note: these notifications are sent as push notifications; however, they are NOT currently sent via text message or email.)
    • Once you’ve checked or unchecked the options you want to use:
      • Push Notifications: Select Apply Updates to save any changes. You can then exit using the back ( < ) icon at the top of the screen.
      • Email and Text Notifications (coming soon): Select the back ( < ) icon at the top of the screen to exit. Your changes are automatically saved.

After turning on notifications, any previously sent notifications will be listed in the Rogers Xfinity app Notifications Centre. If you would like to enable additional notifications or update your settings, simply repeat the steps above at anytime.
