Fix crashing apps on an Android device
First, try these steps:
- Open the Google Play Store app on your device.
- In the Google Play Store app, search for the Android System WebView app and tap it (do not select the Beta, Dev, or Canary versions).
- Tap Update.
- If there’s no Update option, skip this step.
- In the Google Play Store app, search for the Google Chrome app and tap it.
- Tap Update.
Steps above not working? Try these steps:
- On your phone, tap Apps.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Apps (May also be called Apps & notifications).
- Tap Google Play Store.
- Tap Storage. (May also be called Storage & Cache).
- Tap Clear Data. This will clear some of your Play Store settings, including parental controls and auto-update preferences.
- In the Google Play Store app, search for the Android System WebView app and tap it (do not select the Beta, Dev, or Canary versions).
- Tap Update.
- If there’s no Update option, skip this step.
- In the Google Play Store app, search for the Google Chrome app and tap it.
- Tap Update.
