You can bundle Rogers Xfinity TV with an Rogers Xfinity Internet package to enable access to these streaming apps.

Why do I need the Rogers Xfinity Gateway and set up a WiFi network if these Rogers Xfinity TV packages do not require an Rogers Xfinity Internet subscription?

The Rogers Xfinity Gateway provides a low-speed WiFi network connection specifically for your Rogers Xfinity TV service. The Rogers Xfinity Entertainment Box wirelessly connects to this network to receive TV channel signals and on-demand content, as well as to receive operating system updates. If you have multiple TVs and want additional Rogers Xfinity Entertainment Boxes, the Rogers Xfinity Gateway will wirelessly connect to them as well. Note, the low-speed WiFi network is not set up for home internet use or wireless device connectivity. We won't provide any technical support for this type of usage.

Can I subscribe to standalone channels without subscribing to an Rogers Xfinity TV package?

On our Rogers Xfinity TV platform, our Essentials TV package includes:

Local stations such as CBC, CTV, Citytv and Global^±.
Public interest channels such as Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN) and AMI TV.
Access to Rogers On Demand offerings, Pay Per View, the Rogers Xfinity TV app, and various promotional and preview channels.

If the CRTC says that $25 is the maximum that can be charged for the Essentials TV package, why am I paying more?

The $25/mo maximum is only for the channels included in the Essentials TV package, and specifically excludes additional equipment rental fees and any other add-on costs from that amount.

How can I remove Rogers Xfinity TV channels that I don’t want or that aren’t appropriate for kids?

Accepted Answer

Rogers Xfinity TV channels can only be removed if you added them to your package as a standalone channel. If the channel belongs to your Rogers Xfinity TV package’s standard channel lineup, or to a Theme Pack you’ve added, it can’t be removed.
