Use star codes to forward calls from friends and family

The following steps explain how to use star codes to enable a feature on your Rogers Home Phone that will automatically forward calls from friends and family to another phone number.

Once this feature is enabled, calls from contacts on your Friends and Family list will be forwarded to the other phone number you specify. All other callers will continue to ring through to your home phone number.

Adding contacts to your Friends and Family list

To enable this feature, you first must have at least one phone number in your Friends and Family list.

  1. On your home phone, dial *63.
    • A voice will let you know if the feature is currently on or off, and if you currently have any contacts on your Friends and Family list.
  2. Press # on your home phone.
  3. Enter the phone number you want to add.
  4. Press # again.
  5. The phone number you entered will be read back to you. Press 1 to confirm it’s correct.
  6. If you want to add more contacts to your list, repeat these steps starting from Step 2. Otherwise, hang up your phone to finish.

You can also add contacts to your Friends and Family list using Online Manager through MyRogers. Visit this article to learn how.

Notes:

  • If someone on your Friends and Family forward list calls you while the feature is on, your home telephone will ring briefly to remind you that the service is activated. You can make outgoing calls, but you will only receive calls from customers who are not on the list.
  • If you subscribe to voicemail and forward Friend and Family calls to an alternate number, your Rogers Home Phone voicemail won’t take messages from these callers.
  • If you forward your calls to a telephone number outside your local calling area, the usual long distance charges will be billed to your account if the call is answered at that number. You will also need to enter 1 before the number being forwarded to.
  • Only one call can be forwarded at a time. While the line is being used to forward, any other caller will get a busy signal.
  • Call Forwarding can only be used to forward calls to Canadian and US numbers.
