Save your Home Phone voicemail messages to a computer
Have an important or sentimental voicemail message you want keep permanently? While messages on your home phone are automatically deleted after 45 days, you can save voicemails you want to keep permanently from the Online-Voicemail page.
- Log into Online-Voicemail with your Home Phone number and voicemail password.
- Once logged in, select a voicemail message from your Inbox.
- Select Save.
- A window will open. Select a folder to save the file. You can also rename the file if you want. Select Save. The file will download to your computer.
When the download is complete, you can open the file to play it, open the folder where the file is located, or close the window.
Keep in mind:
- The audio file is in standard MP3 format, which is compatible with most computer operating systems and media players.
- There’s an option to delete the message. If you delete the message, it will be deleted from your Home Phone voicemail as well. Messages deleted from your voicemail cannot be restored, so use this option carefully.
Change the number of rings before calls are directed to your voicemail
You can customize the number of rings a caller hears before unanswered calls are directed to your voicemail.
- Dial *94 from your home phone.
- After the tone, enter the desired number of rings (from 1-9) before unanswered calls are directed to your voicemail.
- After your entry, you’ll hear two beeps; which means you’ve successfully changed the number of rings before calls are directed to your voicemail.
Skip your voicemail password
If you’d rather not enter your password every time you check your voicemail from home you can turn on the Password Skip feature.
Keep in mind:
This feature only works when you’re checking your voicemail from your home phone. You’ll still be prompted for your Home Phone number and password when checking your voicemails remotely or online.
- Dial *98 from your home phone.
- Enter your voicemail password.
- If you’ve forgotten it, you can contact us to recover your password.
- Press 4 for Personal Options.
- Press 2 for Administrative Options.
- Press 1 to establish or change your password.
- Press 2 to change Password Skip settings.
- Press 1 to turn Password Skip On.
- If you’d like to turn the feature off again, press 1.
To make other changes, press * to return to the previous menu. If you’re done with your changes you can hang up.
Change your personal greeting, recorded name or password
Personal greeting
These steps show how to record a new personal greeting for your voicemail.
- Dial *98 from your home phone.
- Enter your voicemail password.
- If you’ve forgotten it, you can contact us to recover your password.
- Press 4 for Personal Options.
- Press 3 for establish or change your greeting or name.
- Press 1 for Personal Greeting.
- Press 2 to record a greeting in your own words.
- After the beep, record your personal greeting and press #.
- To accept and save the greeting, press 1.
- To re-record your greeting, press 2.
- To use a standard system greeting, press 3.
To make other changes, press * to return to the previous menu. If you’re done with your changes you can hang up.
Recorded name
These steps show how to change the name you recorded when you originally set up your voicemail.
- Dial *98 from your home phone.
- Enter your voicemail password.
- If you’ve forgotten it, you can contact us to recover your password.
- Press 4 for Personal Options.
- Press 3 for establish or change your greeting or name.
- Press 3 for Name Announcement.
- Press 2 to change your name announcement.
- After the beep, record your name and press #.
- To accept and save the name announcement, press 1.
- To re-record the name announcement, press 2.
To make other changes, press * to return to the previous menu. If you’re done with your changes you can hang up.
Voicemail password
These steps show how to change your voicemail password. You’ll need to know your current password in order to update it. If you’ve forgotten your password, you can contact us to recover it.
Change online:
- Log into Online-Voicemail with your Home Phone number and voicemail password.
- Select the Voicemail Settings tab.
- Choose Voicemail Password from the left menu.
- Enter your current password, new password and confirm new password. Select Submit.
Change from your home phone:
- Dial *98 from your home phone.
- Enter your voicemail password.
- Press 4 for Personal Options.
- Press 2 for Administrative Options.
- Press 1 to establish or change your password.
- Enter your new password and press #.
- You’ll hear a confirmation of your new password. Press 1 to accept the changes.
To make other changes, press * to return to the previous menu. If you’re done with your changes you can hang up.
Turn your voicemail feature off/on, or remove it completely
You can turn off/on voicemail or remove the feature completely if you decide you don’t want it.
To turn off voicemail:
- Dial *91 from your home phone.
- Listen for two beeps to confirm that voicemail has been turned off, then hang up.
- Repeat step 1 but this time dial *93, then hang up once you hear the two beeps.
To turn on voicemail:
- Dial *90 from your home phone.
- Listen for two beeps to confirm that voicemail has been turned on, then hang up.
- Repeat step 1 but this time dial *92, then hang up once you hear the two beeps.
Remove the voicemail feature completely from your home phone package
