This guide will showcase some of the key settings on the MiFi 8000 mobile hotspot. These settings can be found on the device’s Touchscreen for easy access.
Check your data usage
You can check your estimated data usage on your MiFi by following the steps below.
- Tap Menu on the home screen.
- Tap Data Usage.
- You can also set a data limit and change the date of the cycle to match your billing date.
Note: The MiFi data tracker is an estimate only. We suggest you use the data manager available to you by logging into your MyRogers account for an accurate view of your data usage.
Check for software updates
To check for software updates for your MiFi 8000 mobile hotspot, follow the steps below.
- Tap Menu on the home screen.
- Tap Update Device.
- Select Software Update and tap Continue.
- If a software update is available, you will have an option to download and install the update.
Note: Downloading any updates will use data from your MiFi 8000’s data plan.
Turn on/off Airplane mode
When traveling on an airplane, you can turn on Airplane mode so you can keep your MiFi turned on. Please follow the steps below to enable Airplane mode.
- Tap Menu on the home screen.
- Tap Settings.
- Locate Airplane Mode and slide the switch to the right.
- If you need to turn off Airplane Mode, slide the switch to the left.
Disable/enable audio alerts
The MiFi 8000 comes with a variety of audio alerts to let you know about different events, such as if you have a low battery. Please follow the steps below to be able to disable/enable any audio alerts.
- Tap Menu on the home screen.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Audio Alerts.
- Locate All Audio Alerts and slide the switch to the left to turn them off. Slide the switch to the right to turn them on. You can also go through the list of all audio alerts and only turn off the ones you want.
Charge a device with the universal charging port
The MiFi 8000 comes with a universal charging USB-C port that allows you to charge external devices, like smartphones or tables. Please follow the steps below to charge your device.
- Power on your MiFi 8000.
- Connect the device you want to charge to a USB cable and plug it into the USB-C port on the MiFi at the bottom of the device.
- Select Charge on your MiFi device.
